He is a grandson of W.S.Shelton. William Sherman Shelton married Martha E. Doyle, a decendant of the famous pioneer and Indian fighter, Capt. John Doyle, who is buried in Greenhow Hollow on Quick's Run, Lewis Co. Many of the old members of the Doyle and Shelton families are buried at Fairmount Christian Church graveyard at the head of Martin's Fork of Quick's Run. W.S. Shelton, of Carrs, KY., and Martha E.
