Edward L. Thompson, 81, of Eastridge Cemetery Road, Campbellsville, died 
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999 at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville after an 
illness. He was the son of the late Oliver and Laura Benningfield Thompson and 
a retired farmer. He was married to Annie Thompson, who preceded him in death. 
Survivors include four brothers, Howard Thompson, Charles Thompson and Willard 
Thompson, all of Campbellsville, and James Thompson of Tennessee; six sisters, 
Helen Barr of Hopkinsville, Ora Mae Sherrill of Columbia, Marjorie Cox and 
Wilma Cox, both of Campbellsville, Sherry Stayton of Oklahoma, and Viola 
Murray of Texas. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Greer 
and Mable Thompson.
