Clarence Ollie Vernon, 94, died December 20, 2003, at Sunrise Manor Nursing 
Home in Hodgenville

He was a member of Salem Christian Church near Hodgenville and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Lee Vernon; a daughter, Jean Miner; 
his parents, James F. and Elizabeth Vernon; and 3 grandchildren.

He is survived by 4 daughters, Catherine Brown, Linda Metcalf, and Dorothy Lofgren, 
all of Hodgenville, and Sandra Lawler of Lexington; 2 sons, Lawrence Vernon of 
Arkansas and James Vernon of Hodgenville; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 
11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was December 22 at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with 
the Rev. Handley Edlin officiating.

Burial was in Salem Christian Church Cemetery.
